Capturing your next portrait with creative style.
“I called up Nate for a photoshoot and he was a complete professional and very courteous. We went over what I was looking for and what type of outfits ill be wearing. His photography skills are top notch and he is real easy to work with. I would defiantly do another photoshoot some time in the future. Highly recommended!”

Creative Portrait Photography
A portrait can be taken in a hundred different ways. Portrait photography is one of the most popular genres of photography. Portraits are taken so frequently with selfies through mobile cameras. That is the heart of portrait photography, capturing people’s faces.
Photography is also about art. When so many portraits are being taken, sometimes you may want a more creative artistic portrait. There is an aspect in photography where creativity lay hidden. Over my portrait photography career, my experience has allowed me to discover this creative aspect and capture creative portraits.
“Working with Nate has been and is always an absolute pleasure! Professional, very talented and has an amazing vision. Always makes sure a client is happy and has very quick turnaround with editing. Highly recommend!”

When it comes to creative photography, the location plays a big role into the creativity/artistry of the photoshoot. Creative portraits often are themed around a specific mood or emotion. When a photoshoot has a theme, you will want to be in a location that compliments the theme of the shoot.
For example, if you are a blogger who needs creative portraits for their website, then we may consider shooting in a trendy coffee shop or going into the city and capturing some mid-walking shots. Determining the location of the photoshoot for a creative portrait photography session is discussed during the pre-shoot consultation.
“Nate is a class act. I did a lifestyle photoshoot with Nate and was extremely pleased with how the photos came out. He was very flexible and knowledgeable during the shoot. I personally rely on a few specific poses for my shoots, so I was particularly impressed at the numerous additional poses he knew would read well on camera. Highly recommend!“

Creative Portrait Lighting
There is no photography without light. The lighting in an image is a key factor of a successful photograph. This is even more true when it comes to creative portrait photography. The lighting during a creative portrait session can help determine the mood, atmosphere, and tone of the image. If the lighting does not compliment the theme of the photoshoot, then it will be hard to accurately capture the desired mood of the photoshoot.
As a natural light photographer, I have learned how to best utilize natural light to capture and evoke the correct mood in a photograph. Some of my favorite and the best times to shoot during a photo session is golden hour and blue hour. Golden hour occurs shortly after sunrise and before sunset and this creates beautiful “dreamy” images. Blue hour occurs just before sunrise and after sunset and this creates beautiful “moody” images.
“Super happy with Nate’s high quality photos! He has very creative concepts, is a pleasure to shoot with, and I highly recommend to anyone.”

Capture The Mood
Creative Photography Posing
The posing within a creative portrait photography session helps establish and compliment the mood of the photo shoot. I strive to make posing one of the most important elements in my portrait photography. I believe my subject’s pose can greatly alter the mood in an image and help tell the story within the image.
Posing in creative portrait photography can help convey a certain emotion within an image and can impart a sense of intention. I approach “posing” with a more guiding style. Instead of creating “structured” or “fake” poses that are uncomfortable, I will choose to guide you in posing rather than making you hold uncomfortable poses. This leads to better, more natural images, while capturing the story and emotion of the photo shoot.
